50-Year-Old Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident along Atlantic Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (February 8, 2023) – Saturday morning, police responded to a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of Erica Mitchell. It happened in the 3800 block of Atlantic Avenue at around 5:30 a.m., February 4th. According to Palmdale police, a blue 1995 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck occupied by a driver and 50-year-old Mitchell crashed into trees and a fire hydrant. Investigation showed that the driver lost control of the Chevy at that time and caused the incident. Furthermore, officers arrived at the scene and extricated the driver and Mitchell. Unfortunately, Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department took over for further investigation.
