33-Year-Old Rider Killed in Motorcycle Crash near East Brokaw Road

SAN JOSE, CA (March 31, 2022) – Late Sunday morning, Eric Lee Nelson was fatally struck in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 880.

The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway around 11:57 a.m., on March 27. Crews arrived to the scene near the East Brokaw Road on ramp.

Per reports, 33-year-old Nelson was traveling erratically on his motorcycle at a high rate of speed on the southbound lanes. There, he rear-ended a Ford F-150 near East Brokaw Road.

The impact pushed the motorcyclist into the right shoulder of the road before striking a metal guardrail. He was then ejected from his motorcycle, causing fatal injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle remained on scene during the investigation, with no injuries. Additionally, authorities closed several lanes of I-880 for about two hours during investigations.
