Pitcher Eric Gagne has reportedly signed a $500,000 deal, with possible bonuses that could make it an even $1 million, to return to the Dodgers, according to Bleacher Report. The site states the deal has him staying in the minor leagues for the team during spring training, but that he could easily be called up.

Gagne was a bullet-throwing reliever who had his best season with the Dodgers in 2003. That year, with a perfect record of saves, he won the Cy Young Award. More than 55 percent of the batters he dispatched that year were done so via strikeouts.

But like a lot of pitchers, relievers in particular, Gagne's throw lost its luster. The Dodgers are reportedly not considering him as a late-game reliever but rather for mid-game duties.
