Epicurious, the website best-known as the excellent database warehouse for some 100,000 recipes from Bon Appétit and Gourmet, houses more than just recipes. It has articles, guides, videos, cooking and gadget advice, and, of course, lists. It seems everyone has lists these days, for which perhaps we can blame David Letterman. (Why not.)

Epicurious has just compiled a nice list of the World's 15 Most Influential Chefs, one a year for the last decade and a half, starting with Thomas Keller (in 1995) and ending (in 2010) with New York's Jonathan Benno. There are no Los Angeles chefs represented, unless you count Keller (Bouchon Beverly Hills), or Mario Batali (Mozza) or Tom Colicchio (Craft). Which you can't really, although it's certainly nice that they come around sometimes. Check out the list. And if you feel so inclined, maybe nominate your own local fifteen below.
