With more than 10 years of experience in the towing industry, entrepreneur Lewis E. Douglas started Diamond Towing & Recovery in 2011. In the same year, his towing business was featured in District Chronicles, a leading news portal in Washington, DC.

Diamond Towing has helped thousands of customers over the years. It is well-known for its residential parking management, towing, and roadside assistance services. On top of that, Diamond Towing is available 24/7, making it a go-to service provider for thousands of customers, service providers and parking regulators.

After operating a towing company that impounds vehicles for parking violations for so many years, Douglas realized the biggest problems of private residential communities. They are managing visitor parking spaces and having extra income.

Due to these, Douglas founded iPermit, an app that allows apartment and condo managers to digitally distribute parking permits to community members 24/7. The app also allows them to monitor parking areas and set prices for visitor spaces to earn extra income.

Conceptualized in late 2019, iPermit is now a fully operational app. While the app is in its initial stage, it is already used by local apartment complexes, including a luxury apartment complex in National Harbor, MD.

This shows iPermit’s potential to be the next big thing in the parking industry. It has the potential to be used by hotels, resorts, and other commercial establishments.

Douglas owes his success to his mom, who single-handedly raised him, an unwavering support system and a strong work ethic. His buy-and-sell business in high school also helped him launch an app that helps parking lot owners, community parking managers, and residents.

Douglas will be inducted to the National Parking Association’s 2021 class of the 40 Under 40. He has proven to be hard-working, innovative and a great asset to the industry. He’ll be featured on the September issue of NPA’s Parking magazine, celebrated online at WeAreParking.org and he will receive a template press release that you can customize to spread the word.
