[Update: Congrats to Atomic Walrus for winning Rock the Beach! They will play the Hermosa Beach Summer Concert Series to be live streamed across the world.]

Hey, up-and-coming L.A. bands: Tired of slogging it out in divey clubs with crappy PAs in front of 20 people? Would you rather play on a nice big outdoor stage for, oh, let's say 10,000 people? Well, read on.

L.A. Weekly is partnering with live-streaming concert site LiveList to launch a band contest called Rock the Beach. The winning band gets to perform in August at the Hermosa Beach Summer Concert Series (projected attendance: 10,000) right on the beach. Even better: LiveList will stream the winning band's show to a global audience. You'll also get a $500 marketing budget and an interview to be featured in L.A. Weekly and on LiveList.com.

To enter, bands must fill out the contest entry form to receive their custom contest link to share with their friends, fans and supporters. The band with the most fan signups by July 31 wins.
