Red Light Runner causes Accident near Chamberlaine Way, One Pronounced Dead

ADELANTO, CA (September 1, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon, a car crash on Highway 395 claimed the life of Enrique Meza.

The fatal accident happened around 1:19 p.m. at the intersection of US Highway 395 and Chamberlaine Way, according to the police.

Furthermore, according to the report, a northbound white Toyota Tacoma driven by 18-year-old Apolinar Lopez ran past a red light on Highway 395.

Lopez was then broadsided by a silver 2018 Chevrolet Malibu going eastbound on Chamberlaine Way.

Eventually, emergency personnel arrived at the scene and transported the Malibu driver to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was later identified as 33-year-old Enrique Meza of Adelanto.

Meanwhile, Lopez sustained no injuries from the incident. Investigators believed that “distracted driving is believed to be a factor” in the crash.

At this time, Meza’s family started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.

No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Enrique Meza.
