Two Men Killed in Speeding Accident near Sossaman Road

MESA, AZ (August 19, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, Enrique Macias and Cesar Mier were killed in a rollover crash on U.S. 60.

Just before 3:00 a.m., police responded to the scene near Sossaman Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the driver of a Mercedes Benz was speeding when they struck a pickup-truck. Upon impact, the pickup-truck rolled over, ejecting two men onto the road who were not wearing seat belts.

Video footage from the scene shows the pickup-truck on its roof, severely damaged.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 60-year-old Enrique Delgado Macias and 33-year-old Cesar Sanchez Mier dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Kimball Anthony Pardini was transported to Banner Desert Hospital for further treatment. Following preliminary investigations, crews believe he was impaired at the time of the crash.
