Mita Quiogue is the founder and CEO of Glossy Skinnovation, a SoHo-based skincare clinic that offers state-of-the-art skin tone correcting and anti-aging treatments, non-invasive body contouring, laser services, and a line of specially formulated skincare products.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Mita has a business degree from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. She owned many highly successful businesses in her home country before migrating to the United States in 2009. Eventually settling in New York, she shifted her focus to the beauty industry and was determined to carve a niche for herself in this highly competitive industry.

“I came here without knowing anyone,” she says, laughing at her brazenness. And just as NYC was kind to Carrie Bradshaw, the Big Apple has been exceptionally kind to Mita. Seeking to acquire new skills, Mita learned everything she could about eyelash extensions, facial treatments, and other beauty procedures.

She now boasts a wide network of friends and business associates in the beauty, fashion, and entertainment industries. She also runs Glossy Skinnovation, a highly successful skincare clinic in New York City, in trendy SoHo.

Helping Clients Realize the Best Version of Themselves

Mita’s goal is to help her customers look and feel their best so that they can navigate their way through life with greater confidence. Realizing that many of her clients struggle with skin issues, Mita focused her razor-sharp intellect on developing a premium skincare line that would help her clients achieve clear, glossy skin.

The result is Glossy New York Skincare, which is a range of affordably priced skincare products that provide a host of benefits, including fading stubborn dark spots on the skin and underarms, gently brightening and rejuvenating the complexion, and nourishing the skin to give it that coveted “glass skin” translucence.

When it comes to products, customer favorites include the Glossy Fade Away Cream (which fades scars and dark spots quickly), the Melasma Removal Set (which corrects skin tone imperfections), and the Glossy Glass Skin Beauty Bundle (which works synergistically to deliver crystal-clear glass skin).

Due to its efficacy, the Glossy New York Skincare Line has gained a cult following around the world. Mita is working hard to expand her clientele by supplying her skincare products to different clinics in the United States, Canada, and Australia. She’s also looking into expanding in the Philippine market by offering Glossy New York Skincare at local pharmacies.

Ventures in the Medical Field and Real Estate

With the coronavirus pandemic devastating many industries and forcing many businesses to close, Mita found ingenious ways to provide more jobs and do her part to revitalize the economy.

She began venturing into the medical field in August 2020 because of the pandemic. “There was an increased need for medical providers during the pandemic, and quite frankly, it’s a pandemic-proof business,” Mita says.

She opened a medical clinic in Queens, New York, and another one in Pennsylvania. She’s eager to expand into more areas around the country, providing much-needed work to medical professionals and a critical service to the public.

“I’m also venturing into the residential real estate market. I started in November 2020 when I noticed the exodus of residents from urban centers to outlying suburbs and rural areas. People now want to live in bigger homes in less congested communities—and the pivot to remote work and COVID-19 is accelerating this transfer of population.

“I’m expanding my portfolio by acquiring new properties to flip and rent out. This is a challenging new venture for me and I foresee stable growth in the demand for residential homes.”

Other Endeavors

Aside from her beauty and entrepreneurial endeavors, Mita also produces fashion shows. One of her most notable projects was Arise Mindanao, a fashion show which showcased the neo-ethnic fashion of Mindanao designer Feliciano Ador. Glossy Skinnovation is also a regular participant in Manhattan Fashion Week.

Work aside, Mita describes herself as a determined single mom who is intensely devoted to her two children, whom she credits for inspiring her to reach new heights. “I’m a survivor, period,” Mita says. “I’ve fallen down many times but have always managed to pick myself up again. I’ve survived several major health crises and am a kidney recipient.

“My ultimate dream is to become a good example for others to follow … young women, Asian immigrants in pursuit of the American Dream … I want to empower other women. I want to empower the Filipino community. I want to show others that if they work hard, focus on their dreams, and learn from their failures, they too can become success stories.”
