Woman Killed in Traffic Accident on South Lake Road

TAFT, CA (April 5, 2022) – Monday, Eminglio Hernandez, and Jose Abel Espinoza were injured in a head-on crash on South Lake Road.

According to authorities, the incident occurred about three miles east of Gardner Field Road.

Per reports, an unidentified 31-year-old woman was driving a 2012 Acura eastbound when she entered the westbound lanes for reasons unknown. As a result, the Acura collided head-on with a 2002 Chevrolet pickup-truck.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the Acura driver dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, her passenger, identified as 38-year-old Eminglio Hernandez, suffered severe injuries. The driver of the pickup, identified as Espinoza from Maricopa, also sustained serious injury.

Eventually, first responders arrived and transported both men to Kern Medical for further treatment.

California Highway Patrol officers are still working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash. No other details have been disclosed while authorities are conducting an active investigation.
