Dante Chapple Young Arrested after Fatal Los Angeles Neighborhood Street Takeover

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 18, 2022) – Monday evening, a street takeover resulted in a hit-and-run crash that left Elyzza Guajaca dead. The collision happened on December 25th, at around 9:00 p.m. in Hyde Park near the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and West Florence Avenue. According to reports, the incident involved over 100 vehicles, including exploding fireworks and burning Christmas trees. During the takeover, Dante Chapple Young was doing doughnuts in the intersection when he lost control. The vehicle careened into a crowd of people, striking and injuring several people, including Guajaca. Young then fled the scene on foot leaving his vehicle behind. Responding medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. There, medics pronounced 24-year-old Elyzza Guajaca dead. Police later arrested Young just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is charged with murder and his bail is set at $2.2 million. Following Elyzza Guajaca’s death, her family created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
