The imposter's doing two in-store performances at two different Amoebas in the coming weeks. On Monday, June 22, to celebrate the release of his new album Secret, Profane & Sugarcane, Elvis Costello will gig first at the San Francisco Amoeba (at noon), then hop a racehorse and gallop down the coast along the beach (singing “Oliver's Army,” hopefully) and end up in Los Angeles for an 8 p.m. performance.

We'll let the press release do the heavy lifting after the jump:

At each stop Costello will not only perform, but also sign copies of the new CD for fans. Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Jim Lauderdale will accompany Costello for each of these acoustic sets.

Amoeba will stream the Hollywood in-store on amoeba.com live at 8pm PT, and Amoeba Music's A.V. team will be hitting the road with Costello to document his one day performance marathon, with both performances posted on amoeba.com for viewing after the in-stores.

A special commemorative silkscreened poster will be made for the event and given away with purchase of the 'Secret, Profane & Sugarcane' CD on the day of the performances (while they last).

(We're just kidding about the beachside gallop. Though it were true.)
