36-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Red-Light Collision near McKellips Road

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (September 9, 2024)Elliot Carter died Saturday morning, in a motorcycle crash on Miller and McKellips Road.

Police officers received dispatch calls around 9:20 a.m., on August 31st.

Authorities reported that 36-year-old Carter was riding a motorcycle westbound on McKellips Road when he ran a red light.

Upon entering the intersection, his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck that was passing through on a green light. The collision ejected Carter from his motorcycle, resulting in serious injuries.

Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators revealed that Carter was not wearing a helmet during the crash.

Additionally, the occupants of the pickup truck were unharmed. Troopers closed the intersection for several hours, reopening it by 1:00 p.m. The exact factors contributing to the crash are still under investigation.
