49-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Struck South of San Antonio Valley Road

LIVERMORE, CA (February 24, 2022) – Monday afternoon, Ellen Mai Le was pronounced dead after a bike collision on Mines Road.

Officers said the crash was reported about 2:30 p.m. where the bicyclist was heading northbound and a 2010 Land Rover was headed southbound.

California Highway Patrol said as they were approaching a curve in the road from opposite directions, both the cyclist and the SUV crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on.

Furthermore the bicyclist was ejected from her bike and died at the scene. She was later identified as 49-year-old Mai Le.

Officers said the wreck is under active investigation. Moreover, alcohol or drugs were not considered to be factors in the crash.
