Elle King is bringing the Country: Elle King might be the daughter of comedian Rob Schneider, but that’s probably the least interesting thing about her. There’s no “Hollywood princess on a pop road to stardom” narrative here, or at least there shouldn’t be. Her rootsy Americana with a raunchy swing is charming, and absolutely authentic.

A couple of years ago, she opened up the Heart/Joan Jett & the Blackhearts show and did herself proud; she didn’t look the slightest bit out of place and anthemic single “Ex’s and Oh’s” was one of the highlights during an evening full of them.

It’s been a little while since her last album, 2018’s Shake the Spirit, but she livestreams this week as part of the County Now Live series, and that’s cause for celebration.
