10-Year-Old and 8-Year-Old Fatally Struck in Deadly Porterville DUI Crash

PORTERVILLE, CA (June 29, 2021)Destiny and Katelyn Huanaco died Tuesday afternoon after Elizabeth Nungaray struck their vehicle.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around the afternoon of Tuesday, June 19. Per reports, Nungaray ran a red light and consequently struck a Dodge Journey.

As a result, the 10-year-old and 8-year-old girls, Destiny and Katelyn Huanaco both died at the scene. Meanwhile, rescuers rushed 4-year-old Sean Huanaco and 13-year-old Ashley Huanaco, their siblings, to Valley Children’s Hospital with major injuries.

Police later booked Elizabeth Nungaray into the Tulare County Jail on DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
