35-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash near Willbrook Avenue
WILLOWBROOK, CA (November 9, 2022) – Friday night, Elise Kelley was pronounced dead after a pedestrian hit-and-run on El Segundo Boulevard.
Police responded to the scene around 11:45 p.m., just east of Willowbrook Avenue.
Reports indicate that the driver of an unidentified vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed in the No.1 lane. Shortly after, the driver struck a 35-year-old woman that was attempting to cross the street at the time.
Upon impact, the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured pedestrian. Responding officers arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The deceased pedestrian was later identified as 34-year-old Elise Kelley.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further details about the fatal hit-and-run on El Segundo Boulevard is still underway. Once available, more information will be provided to the public.
