The LAPD this week released video of missing, 21-year-old Canadian Elisa Lam, hoping the imagery will help someone recognize her and call authorities.

Cops say her disappearance is “suspicions;” they believe “foul play” might have played a role.

The tourist was supposed to be en route to Santa Cruz at some point and had been staying …

… at the Hotel Cecil on the edge of Skid Row downtown.

The hotel markets itself as a destination for overseas tourists.

Many of its “single-room-occupancy neighbors” in the area cater to the quasi-homeless.

Lam arrived in L.A. Jan. 26 and was last seen at that hotel Jan. 31. The video appears to be security camera footage, possibly from an elevator in that building, but an LAPD officer couldn't confirm that to the Weekly.

The woman speaks English and Cantonese fluently and likes to take public transportation, including Amtrak, according to police. Here's how the LAPD describes her:

… An Asian woman of Chinese descent. She has black hair, brown eyes and stands 5 feet 4 inches tall. She weighs about 115 pounds. She is fluent in English and also speaks Cantonese.
