On a Saturday night in South Los Angeles, 26-year-old Latino man Eleodoro Gaspar-Tlatelpa was shot dead through the window of his living room by an unidentified assailant outside the house, on the 2700 block of Nevin Avenue.

Coroner's reports show Gaspar-Tlatelpa was shot a dozen times at about 10 p.m. on January 8. After LAPD officers responded to the scene…

… they pronounced him dead at 10:21 p.m.

Investigators immediately suspected the shooting to be gang-related, City News Service reported at the time. Nothing else was known about the suspect — only that he or she had arrived, and fled, on foot.

Anyone with additional information was urged to call the LAPD at (877) 527-3247.

Note: Due to technical difficulties, the LA Weekly's archive of all homicides within Los Angeles city limits was discontinued near the end of last year. As of April 4, we have been rolling out the 2011 homicides, one by one, and will continue until our “Murder was the Case” archive is up to date. Thanks for your patience.
