Due to new COVID-19 vaccination requirements for large events in Las Vegas, Electric Daisy Carnival, the eclectic desert music festival hosted by Insomniac Events, has been postponed for a third time, until October 22-24.

Pasquale Rotella, the festival’s founder, broke the news via his Instagram page on Tuesday, April 20, stating in a multi-paragraph statement that the decision to postpone was based on new state regulations in Clark County, Nevada requiring 60% of the Las Vegas population to be vaccinated.

“However, today, Clark County (home of EDC & the Las Vegas Motor Speedway) passed a reopening plan that requires 60% of their residents to be vaccinated before restrictions over large scale gatherings such as EDC can be lifted. Unfortunately, the rate at which people get vaccinated before EDC is out of our control. It might happen in time, it might not. Either way, we can’t take that risk.”

Originally planned for May 22-24 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Rotella said that Clark County’s regulations changed after a meeting with county officials.

Rotella is also expected to host an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit, “to address any questions.”

All tickets for the May dates will be transferred to October, according to Rotella.
