Traffic Crash on Highway 99 Left Elderly Woman Killed

YUBA CITY, CA (November 18, 2021) – A crash on Highway 99 that claimed the life of an elderly woman Wednesday morning.

The fatal incident occurred around 9:28 p.m. when a southbound 2018 Toyota entered the left turn lane near Stewart Road.

Meanwhile, a driver of a 2016 Mazda going northbound in the second lane and a 2005 Lexus driving in the first lane slightly behind the Mazda.

According to the investigators, the Toyota driver did not yield to oncoming traffic and turned directly in front of the vehicles.

As a result, the Mazda crashed into the Toyota sending it to spin counter-clockwise and hit the right rear corner of the Lexus.

Tragically, the 93-year-old woman driving the Toyota succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

However, the Mazda driver is currently in an unknown condition.

Yuba City Officials are investigating the fatal crash.
