Suspect at Large Following Deadly Pedestrian Collision near 19th Street

OAKLAND, CA (December 10, 2021) – Early Saturday morning, an elderly pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Broadway.

The fatal incident occurred 1:46 a.m., in the 1900 block of Broadway, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

According to the investigators, a four-door gray sedan struck the man who was walking in the southbound traffic lanes. However, the driver fled the scene upon impact without rendering aid to the victim.

Eventually, first responders arrived at the scene and transported the man to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, Oakland Officials are working to identify the hit-and-run suspect on Broadway.
