87-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Bus in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 26, 2021) – Friday evening, an 87-year-old man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash on San Ysidro Boulevard.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:45 p.m., after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

Authorities determined that a pedestrian stumbled into the northbound No. 1 lane while crossing the 500 block of San Ysidro Boulevard. The male pedestrian fell in front of an oncoming charter bus, and was struck.

Due to the impact of the crash, the 87-year-old man died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, San Diego Officials are still investigating the pedestrian crash on San Ysidro Boulevard.
