64-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup-Truck near Interstate 5

REDDING, CA (February 18, 2022) – Friday morning, a 64-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on South Bonnyview Road.

Police responded to the scene around 6:45 a.m., near the Interstate 5 overpass after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

Investigators claimed that the driver of an eastbound 2500 GMC pickup-truck hit the man who was wearing dark clothes. In addition, crews say the pedestrian was crossing the street outside the marked crosswalk.

After the impact, the driver stopped and contacted 911.

Upon arrival, officers located a man lying on the road with major injuries. First responders then transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, Redding Officials and the traffic unit are still investigating the pedestrian accident on South Bonnyview Road.
