75-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Auto Collision near Anderholt Road

HOLTVILLE, CA (January 20, 2022) – Monday afternoon, a 75-year-old man was killed in a head-on accident on Interstate 8.

The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway, just west of Anderholt Road.

According to investigators, the driver of a 2019 Lexus drifted over the dirt center median and collided head-on with a westbound 2007 Chevy.

Due to the impact, the 75-year-old Lexus driver from Sedona, Arizona died after suffering from blunt-force trauma.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported two women from the same vehicle, a 78-year-old and 53-year-old, to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

In addition, crews also transported a 61-year-old male Chevy driver from Ocotillo to the same hospital. Although, their identities have not yet been released.

At this time, Holtville Officials are still currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the I-8 head-on crash.
