68-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident on Rosecrans Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (December 10, 2021) – A car collision on Lytton Street claimed the life of an elderly man Saturday morning.

The incident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. at 3000 Block Lytton Street. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

Investigators say an eastbound blue Chevy HHR entered the intersection on Rosecrans Street and collided with a gray Nissan Altima. As a result, the collision left a 68-year-old man dead at the scene.

Moreover, the 27-year-old male Nissan driver was taken to a local hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries. There has been no update on his current condition.

The San Diego Police Department closed multiple streets to conduct an investigation. However, the road has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, authorities have not yet identified the deceased man. Although, police are continuing to investigate the Lytton Street crash.
