Traffic Accident on Central Road Left Two Fatalities

APPLE VALLEY, CA (May 18, 2022) – On Saturday, a crash on Highway 18 left Elaine Macdonald dead, police said.

According to the report, Macdonald traveled north on Central Road as a semi-truck, driven by Kevin Barricman, approached the intersection on Central Road while going east on State Highway 18.

During the investigation, officials determined that the Ford Explorer failed to stop at the red signal and continued north into the intersection. As a result, the truck driven by Barricman broadsided the Ford Explorer.

The collision ejected the Ford’s driver, Macdonald, from the vehicle leaving her with serious injuries.

Unfortunately, Macdonald was pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of their injuries.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Apple Valley Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the police at 760-947-1500. An active investigation is currently underway.

No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Elaine Macdonald.
