After receiving an anonymous tip, El Monte police seized four tons of illegal fireworks valued at $275,000 from a Los Angeles-area home and convenience store, according to the Associated Press.

The two seizures were part of the same investigation.

The special investigation team from the police department found $125,000 worth of illegal fireworks from the home on Monday night. A stash of fireworks was also found in an East Los Angeles convenience store on Tuesday worth roughly $150,000.
