A sexual predator who targeted elderly women in the San Fernando Valley has been caught, Los Angeles police announced Thursday.

Forty-two-year-old North Hollywood resident Edwin Ernesto Cabrera was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery following an alleged spree that had him exposing himself, touching, kissing and otherwise violating older women, police allege. Authorities this week were seeking to locate other possible victims of the suspect.

Los Angeles police counted 11 victims of the suspect between September of 2009 and August of this year. According to the department:

Cabrera approached victims in a public place and feigned a prior acquaintance with them. Cabrera then offered them assistance in the form of massages and proceeded to touch them in a sexually inappropriate manner. At times, Cabrera offered services as a handyman. Once he was in the victim's residence, he requested to shower and exposed himself. Cabrera also often kissed his victims on the face or neck area.

Authorities say the suspect drove a red van or peddled a red bicycle. He's described as a 5-feet, 5-inch tall man who weights about 180 pounds. Anyone with information about further possible victims was asked to call North Hollywood detectives at 818-623-4090.
