Worlds collide in a new Spike Jonze-produced skateboard short featuring unreleased Ima Robot songs and a whole heaping lot of pyrotechnics!

What more do you need to know?

Okay, a few deets: The mature sk8bro's mag of choice since 1983, Transworld Skateboarding, held a video contest called “Skate & Create” whereby four teams of skaters were challenged to each make a video using the same props and the same warehouse over a nine-day period.

Each posse was rounded up under one shoe company sponsor and allowed a small film crew. Just so happened that the cinema pros wrangled by Torrence-based kicks co. Lakai included Spike Jonze … and they won!

According to a statement from director Ty Evans, the concept of his winning Skate & Create clip, “Lakairomania,” actually came from an Ima Robot video he was hoping to shoot before the band went indie (after the success of the singer's little Magnetic Zeros project).

The video is pretty damn amazing, and features two Ima Robot songs — “Sail With Me” and “Ruthless” — from the band's highly anticipated return album, Another Man's Treasure, due out October 19 on Werewolf Heart Records.

Watch 'er below:

In the buildup to the new LP, Ima Robot member Turbotito has been leaking lost band demos via the Werewolf Heart page. Here are a couple, followed by two more songs (in video form) from Another Man's Treasure. According to the band's Facebook page, purchasers of the LP will also receive a bonus “lost EP” called Search & Destroy.
