36-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near Mile Marker 15

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 23, 2021) – Friday night, Edward Rand Howerton, 36, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on State Route 373.

According to a news release, the incident occurred at 5:30 p.m., near mile marker 15. Per reports, the driver of a southbound vehicle struck Howerton, who was in the traffic lane.

Upon impact, the driver continued traveling on the road without rendering aid to the victim. The suspect vehicle went southbound without stopping and has yet to be recognized or traced.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Howerton dead at the scene.

Further circumstances leading up to the deadly collision are still unclear. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
