42-Year-Old Man Arrested after DUI Accident near North Stone Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (February 22, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, Edward Esquibel Jr. was arrested after a DUI collision on East Glenn Street.

Around 3:20 a.m., the incident occurred at the intersection of North Stone Avenue and East Glenn Street on February 9th.

Per reports, an officer responding to a hit-and-run accident was struck by another driver in the area. Medics arrived and transported the officer to Banner UMC where crews had to amputate the officer’s leg.

Meanwhile, police arrested 42-year-old Edward Esquibel Jr. for aggravated assault, felony endangerment and felony criminal damage.

At this time, police have yet to locate the suspect of the original hit-and-run. Investigators suspect that vehicle is a 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion with noticeable front-end damage and possible windshield damage.
