52-Year-Old Woman Killed in DUI Crash on Highway 680 in Milpitas

MILPITAS, CA (May 17, 2021) – 25-year-old Eduardo Preciado was arrested Wednesday morning after a DUI crash on Highway 680.

The tragic accident happened around 12:28 a.m. on May 12, on Interstate Highway 680 near Jacklin Road.

Per reports, a 25-year-old Fremont man was driving a 2012 Infiniti when he collided with the sand attenuator barrels and a concrete sound wall.

The car eventually came to a stop in the center median. Due to the impact of the crash, a female passenger in the car died at the scene after suffering fatal injuries.

Officials only identified the deceased victim as 52-year-old Phoenix, Arizona resident. CHP says she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, medics took Preciado to San Jose Regional Medical Center for treatment after suffering minor injuries.

Later, officials arrested Eduardo Preciado on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Furthermore, the crash slowed traffic on the highway until around 2:10 a.m. But, the road has since reopened.
