A free annual tradition, the Echo Park Community Parade winds along Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park from Elysian Park Avenue to Park Avenue. Journalist, activist and local resident Jesus Sanchez serves as grand marshal, and the beloved L.A. Derby Dolls are among the parade ambassadors. This year, the parade features a Krampuslauf — a gaggle of wild and woolly creatures who pay homage to Santa’s nemesis, Krampus the Christmas demon. The resurrection of this little-known evil entity is thanks to the L.A. Cacophony Society, and this year, the organization is joined by representatives of European Krampus lovers such as the Alt Gnigler Krampus Perchten Pass.
