Baseball fans know that throwing the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium in an honor that requires strength and a level head; and tonight, it's an honor that also requires the ability to down 10 Dodger Dogs faster than anyone else in the venue. In honor of Free Dodger Dog Night, L.A. radio station Power 106 will host a hot dog eating contest starting at 6 p.m. in the stadium's Autograph Alley. The winner will join competition host/morning show personality Tatoo, as well as Dr. Arthur Bartner, leader of USC's marching band, in throwing out the first pitch before the game. This may seem odd, since conventional wisdom suggests that a “first pitch” can only be thrown once per game. But the same logic would call eating a bunch of hot dogs before exercise a “bad idea.” So, for tonight, logic can shove it, with relish.
