People go to Disneyland and California Adventure for the rides, and to meet the characters, and to pick up some merch. They also go for the food, which for many years was strictly in the novelty category: churros and humorously large turkey legs, for instance. And those food items still exist (and are, in their way, delicious), but Disney has recently put a lot more resources toward its food program.
