If getting screamed at by celebrity chef-ranter Gordon Ramsay happens to be one of your lifelong ambitions, then you have someplace to be this Sunday. On January 31st, there will be an open casting call for the L.A. auditions of MasterChef, Ramsay's new Fox show, at the Farmers Market Sur la Table. The show will take would-be amateur chefs–contestants can't have worked professionally in the culinary field–and attempt to turn them into MasterChefs by “putting them through the paces with various challenges” and well, yelling at them. Very Pavlovian, really. The casting call will take place on Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Judging the L.A. casting call will be chef-owner Neal Fraser (Grace, BLD), edible Los Angeles editor Lucy Lean and L.A.'s Original Farmers Market Cookbook author (and supervising producer) JoAnn Cianciulli. The show will be filmed in Los Angeles, which cuts down on the commute for the winners. Buy locally, eat locally, get abused locally.
