Bicyclist Fatally Struck near Trouville Avenue

GROVER BEACH, CA (August 3, 2022) – On Tuesday, an electric bike accident on 13th Street claimed the life of Dylan Tyler Smith, police said.

The collision occurred around 10:20 p.m. August 2nd, near 13th Street and Trouville Avenue, per initial reports.

Per reports, the northbound bicyclist entered the road directly into the path of an oncoming fire truck driven by 39-year-old Joe Farnsworth.

Eventually, the fire truck and the bicyclist collided in the intersection.

The right front of the truck hit the left side of the bicycle, ejecting the bicyclist onto the road.

Moreover, medical personnel arrived and transported the severely injured man to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for further treatment.

Due to the extent of his condition, medics later pronounced 29-year-old Dylan Tyler Smith of Arroyo Grande dead at the hospital.

At this time, Grover Beach Officials continue to investigate the 13th Street bicycle accident.
