Recology Truck Driver Hospitalized after DUI Collision near South Wright Road

SANTA ROSA, CA (February 8, 2022) – Police arrested Dustin Shaw after a DUI crash on Ludwig Avenue, Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., just west of South Wright Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Investigators determined that a westbound Toyota Tundra drifted to the right and rear-ended a GMC with hazard lights. As a result, the collision pushed the GMC truck into a Recology employee walking along the right side of the truck.

Eventually, paramedics arrived and transported the employee to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major but non life-threatening injuries.

In addition, Santa Rosa Officials arrested the Toyota driver, identified as 45-year-old Dustin Shaw, of Sebastopol for suspicion of DUI.
