Summer's not even official here, but it's hot on the streets.
The LAPD and the L.A. County Sheriff's Department are on a tear against drunk drivers. These departments want you to know they'll be out there looking for alcohol-soaked idiots behind the wheel. Here's your DUI checkpoint cheat sheet for the weekend:
–Tonight from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. there will be a checkpoint on Sunset Boulevard at Echo Park Avenue. Hipsters beware.
–Tonight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be a checkpoint on Vermont Avenue at Sixth Street in beautiful Koreatown.
–Tonight from 7:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. there will be a checkpoint somewhere in the city of Malibu (sheriff's officials are not saying exactly where).
–Tonight from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. there will be a checkpoint on Ventura Boulevard east of Columbus Avenue in Sherman Oaks.
–Tonight from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be a checkpoint on Manchester Avenue west of Figueroa Street in South L.A.
–Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be a checkpoint somewhere in the Santa Clarita area (again, deputies won't give us the exact locale).
–Saturday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. there will be a checkpoint on Van Nuys Boulevard at Haddon Avenue in scenic Pacoima.
Be safe.
