You think love hurts, just wait until the LAPD gets a hold of your drunk-driving ass.

Cupid ain't got nothing on these cops. The Automobile Club of Southern California says a DUI could cost you nearly $16,000 in fines, fees, towing and other legal pain. That's a lot more than that prix fixe dinner you were planning.

Lucky for you we have the ultimate Valentine: A DUI checkpoint cheat sheet for the weekend. The fun starts tonight:

–Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be an LAPD checkpoint on Ventura Boulevard at Big Oak Drive in Studio City.

–Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. the department will have extra patrol cars and motorcycle units looking for drunk drivers on the streets covered by the 77th Street Division in South L.A.

–Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD will have a checkpoint waiting for drunk hipsters with wheels on Sunset Boulevard at Laveta Terrace in Echo Park.
