Cinco de Mayo just happened and cops swarmed Southern California with DUI checkpoints and drunk patrols.
Don't they ever let up?
No. The LAPD is back at it this weekend — starting tonight — with checkpoints and “saturation patrols” in Harvard Heights, South L.A., Boyle Heights, and scenic Van Nuys. Don't say we didn't warn you:
-Tonight, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., there will be a DUI checkpoint on South Vermont Avenue between Pico Boulevard and 12th Street in Harvard Heights. (It'll be like shooting fish in a barrel.)
-Also tonight, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., there will be a checkpoint on Manchester Avenue between Hoover and Figueroa streets in South Los Angeles.
-Tomorrow (Saturday), from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., there will be a checkpoint on Sherman Way between Sepulveda Boulevard and Orion Avenue in lovely Van Nuys.
-Finally, on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. there will be a “saturation patrol” in search of drunktards in the LAPD's Hollenbeck Division area, which includes Boyle Heights and much of the city's Eastside.
Be careful out there.
