It's Friday, and you know what that means. It's time for your weekly DUI checkpoint in Los Angeles. The LAPD says it sets these things up for your own safety — and that it targets areas where there have been problems with drunk drivers and accidents.

La Opinion recently reported that there's a correlation between the checkpoints and Latino immigrant communities where unlicensed drivers are plentiful and finding cars to impound (which can bring cash to the financially troubled city) is like shooting fish in a barrel.
