Spring is here, the weather has warmed up, and the LAPD is gunning for your drunk ass.

So, while the department can still nab you for walking while intoxicated (a.k.a. being drunk in public), we suggest that's a much better route, even in L.A., than driving after a tequila-shot session with the girls.

We still get feedback from some of you who are surprised to see our tip-offs, too. Look, the department wants you to know cops are out there looking for drunktards:

Stateth the LAPD:

The checkpoint will serve as a reminder to the community of Southwest Division to use designated drivers and not drink and drive. Our message is simple: if we catch you driving drunk, you will be arrested.

So here's your deets for the latest, greatest LAPD DUI checkpoint:

It happens from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday on Jefferson Boulevard (they actually let us know it will be set up in eastbound lanes) between South Western Avenue and Denker Street.
