The LAPD appears to be laying fairly low in the days leading up to what will surely be one its busiest periods, Halloween week in L.A.

But that doesn't mean you get a free pass. The department will have a drunk-driver checkpoint waiting for you tonight in Hollywood. And then some. Here's your DUI checkpoint cheat sheet for the weekend, which, for the average L.A. Weekly reader, starts now!

–Tonight LAPD will have a checkpoint set up on Cahuenga Boulevard at Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of clubland. It's scheduled to run from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

–Friday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., the department will have a checkpoint running on Cahuenga Boulevard at Fredonia Drive in the Universal City area.
