Driver Charged after Two-Vehicle Collision on 188th Street

LYNNWOOD, WA (October 15, 2021) – Saturday morning, two people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle DUI accident on 36th Avenue.

The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m., at the intersection of 36th Avenue and 188th Street. Dispatchers arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, two vehicles collided, causing one vehicle to veer off the roadway and roll over. However, further details leading up to the crash remain unclear.

Moreover, reports indicate that a 21-year-old Seattle man was driving under the influence when he disregarded a red light and ultimately struck the victim’s vehicle.

Upon arrival, emergency crews transported a 52-year-old Lynnwood man to Harborview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

The DUI driver was also taken to Harborview Medical Center with moderate injuries. He currently faces potential charges for reckless driving, DUI and vehicular assault.

In addition, the surrounding area was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since been reopened.
