0 1 1Pride month parties were understandably all over the place this year, but DTLA Proud Festival planning thankfully, remained steady. The outdoor Summer gathering brings a diverse mixture of vendors, performers and locals together to honor the city’s LGBTQ+ community and culture this weekend. Boasting “100% queer” and local talent on the main stage, performers this year include Sam Sparro, Love Bailey, Trans Hour of Power, Trans Chorus Los Angeles, Mariachi Arcoiris, DJ Daisy O’Dell, DJ Josh Peace, Purple Crush, Proper D, Justin Cristofer, Gia Banks (seen on HBO’s Legendary) and many more. Other amusements include a  “Kink Lounge”  (Flogger Shop, Lustern, Pleasure Chest, Rough Trade and Tom of Finland are all involved), a marketplace and screenings including the fittingly titled, PROUD in a Pandemic. Info booths, art installations, food trucks, and the popular splash bash Summertramp round out the revelry over the weekend. Proceeds go a proposed DTLA PROUD Community Center. At Pershing Square, 532 S. Olive St. Downtown. (Due to COVID-19, capacity will be limited. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours is required).
