Santa Monica Place partnered with Unleashed by Petco to host an off-leash dog park on Saturday. Originally, the event's theme was “Summer Snow Day” in hopes of giving dogs a chance to cool off in the snow. The dog event has been in the works since last year, but out of concern for the California's water conservation efforts, the snow was cancelled and the event was modified to a pop-up dog park. The family friendly event included face painting for kids, dog snack samples from Natural Balance and doggie swag from Pooch Hotel and Unleashed by Petco. The Dawg Squad, a local rescue group, was on site with lovable canines looking for their forever homes. All photos by Nanette Gonzales.
