Two Drivers Hospitalized after Semi-Truck Collision on Pierson Boulevard

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (March 9, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, two people were injured after a two-vehicle crash on State Route 62.

According to the report, the collision happened around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 62 and Pierson Boulevard.

Authorities said a truck hauling carrots collided with an SUV, causing it to overturn. The collision caused the carrots to spill onto the road and left the two drivers with injuries.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported both drivers to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time, the cause of the crash and the identities of the parties involved remains unavailable.

Desert Hot Springs Councilmember Russell Betts considers this a dangerous intersection as it is an accident-prone area. In addition, Betts claimed that the city is already working with Caltrans to implement major safety improvements.
