One Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Rollover Collision on Pennsylvania Street Northeast

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (July 9, 2024) – One man died late Wednesday night, in a rollover crash on Lomas Boulevard and Pennsylvania Street Northeast.

First responders arrived shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls on June 26th.

According to reports, the driver of a silver 2013 Chevrolet SUV was traveling west and making a turn onto Pennsylvania Street with a green light.

Simultaneously, a white 2021 Jeep heading east at high speed crashed into the Chevrolet and then struck a telephone pole before overturning.

Emergency crews arrived and extricated the Jeep driver, who had sustained life-threatening injuries.

Medics pronounced the Jeep driver dead at the scene; police have not yet released his identity. The Chevrolet driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital by paramedics.

Alcohol or impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing. Further details about the rollover crash on Lomas Boulevard will be provided when available.
